How the lottery numbers are selected by computer?

Question by libra1313: How the lottery numbers are selected by computer?
If the numbers are selected by computer it means that it is a special program which controls the action of computer in selecting of numbers. It is quite possible that computer can be programmed to select 6 or 7 numbers which were not scratched by players in order to boost a sale of tickets for the next draw by declaring “No Winner” of the first prize. Most of lotteries are controlled by Government who collects lots of money from the lotteries.

There really is no need for any kind of computer larceny. The major lotteries in the US have odds at over 150m-1 against winning. The math alone is going to ensure multiple roll overs that drive higher ticket sales.

When the odds are this bad, they don’t need any tricks. The math would take care of itself.

I don’t think anything bogus is going on because if it were by now someone would have blown the whistle. You couldn’t keep something like a rigged lottery secret for all these years.

  1. Lottery number drawing computers are isolated stand alone machines that have no outside connections allowing them any possibility of being hacked. There are two well known example of the opperators screwing up the settings, the Tenn. Pick-3 could not draw doubles and the lottery ignored customer complaints about it, until finding the error and having to owe up to it. This provided proof there are features in the program that can be turned on and off feeding the theory the lottery may play games with us.
